Just had your water service restored? Here’s what to expect:

After a water service interruption, it’s normal to have air in your water lines. This may cause sputtering, cloudy water, or inconsistent flow when you first turn on your faucets.

What you should do:

  • Run cold water from a high-flow faucet (such as a bathtub or outdoor spigot) for 5–10 minutes
  • Let the water run until it flows steadily and clears up

A few helpful tips:

  • Start with the lowest faucet in your home, then move to higher ones
  • Remove and rinse faucet aerators if you notice reduced flow
  • Avoid using hot water until the air is cleared (this helps protect your water heater)
  • Check appliances like dishwashers and washing machines after normal flow returns

This is a normal part of restoring service, and your water should return to normal shortly.

Call Before You Dig - 811

Before starting any digging project, be sure to call 811 — the free national “Call Before You Dig” service. By contacting 811 at least two business days before you dig, utility companies will mark the approximate location of underground lines such as water, sewer, gas, electric, and communications lines on your property. This helps prevent costly damage, service disruptions, and serious injury. Whether you’re installing a fence, planting trees, or doing any excavation work, always contact 811 first — it’s free, easy, and required by law.
